Julie Love

Julie Love was a Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner for 20 years and is now a Psychiatric NP with a solo private practice.  She worked as a school nurse in Somerville, and a camp nurse in New Hampshire.  She has been a psychiatric nurse for over twenty years, working with people of all ages in a wide range of settings.  She has also been a nursing instructor teaching pediatrics, maternity, and psychiatric nursing for many Boston area nursing schools.  In 2015, she was hired by McLean Hospital to develop the McLean School Nurse Liaison Project.  In 2021 she organized the successful petition for state funding, and is now leading the development of an independent nonprofit to support the program.  She lives in Mansfield with her husband and far too many pets, where she knits, gardens, and has written two novels, Freaks and Yeshu.  She is passionate about promoting respect and compassion for people with mental illness.
