The use of psychotropic medications in the pediatric population is on the rise.  School nurses need be well-informed about current trends in the psychopharmacological treatment of the students in their care.   In this presentation, we will:

  • Examine the use of psychiatric medications in the pediatric population

  • Review the medications most commonly prescribed for children and teens to manage psychiatric symptoms

  • Discuss the implications for their use in the school setting

  • Explore the challenges of fostering collaboration between parents, staff, teachers, and school nurses

During the '22-'23 school year we must charge a $200 speaker’s fee.  Scholarships may be available.  Your support for state funding will help us return to offering presentations at no charge.
